What kind of sprout is this?

These sprouts a href="http://i55.tinypic.com/21l22w1.png" rel="nofollow"http://i55.tinypic.com/21l22w1.png/a are popping up through a pretty big crack in the cement about 2 feet away from the remains of a stump from a tree that was cut down about 10 years ago. I had to get rid of it because was too close to my house (as evidenced by all the cracking). However, the stump kept growing after the tree was cut down, so the stump went through several trials of abuse including burning and even some miniature form of bombing if I remember correctly. I'm wondering if this plant is a sprout from that old tree, or just some common weed that should be uprooted. Even if this is a new tree sprout, I'll take it and put it in a pot because I can't let it stay where it is, lest it knock my house over 100 years from now.
