How can you break through 5/8" thick plexi glass?

My friend has this old vending machine that used to be in a state rest area, but was discontinued when a new person took over the vending machine route... the front glass on it is 5/8 thick so I tried using a hammer nothing! I tried a saw, broke the blade off. for sure this thing was darn tough, now I knew from experience that is was bullet proof cause I watched some fellow coworkers take sledge hammers to the front end! the darn thing is unbreakable. or is it? could anybody bestow some insight in this topic? lol is there a way to get through the glass?
